This miniapp creation tutorial explains how to write a request that is easy to verify. Cami supports creating small tools by describing what you want, but the generated result depends on the current service, version, and request. The coffee log below is an example of a request and how to check it, not a recorded live generation run.
Split one request into three parts
Make a small tool that records how many cups of coffee I drink each day. I want to add one entry for today and see the cup count per day this week plus a weekly total. Keep it to adding and viewing for now; no reminders or account sharing.
This is an example of how to phrase an input. Check the actual recognition and generated result in the app.
| Part | What to state | Coffee example |
|---|---|---|
| Data | What one record holds | Date and cup count |
| Actions | What the user can do | Add an entry for today |
| Result | How you can tell the tool works | Daily entries this week and a total |
For a first build, keep the core flow. Colors, charts, and extra buttons can come later. Adding reminders, export, and multi-user sharing all at once makes the result harder to verify, and none of it should be assumed available by default.
After generation, check before you use
- Open the miniapp creation page and describe what you want in “Describe the miniapp you want”.
- Tap “Create miniapp” and watch the status on the page. If it is interrupted or fails, follow the retry or recovery prompts shown, rather than tapping out multiple copies of the tool.
- Once it succeeds, review the name and description, and open the tool with “Use now”. To keep it, look for “Add to My Miniapps”.
- Add one recognizable sample record first and check that the list and the totals agree before logging real content.
These entry names come from the product’s interface materials. The current website does not run this coffee tool’s full generation service, so no fabricated success screenshots are shown here, and identical controls are not guaranteed on every generation.
What to check in the first record
- The date and cup count are right, and one tap did not become duplicate entries.
- The “this week” range matches the week you have in mind.
- The daily entries and the weekly total correspond.
- Records survive leaving and returning, and editing or deleting works as the tool describes.
Verify with test data before managing real data. Tools that let Cami read and write through conversation need to be added to “My Miniapps” with the relevant access granted. Not all tools support the same data operations.
Frequently asked questions
Does a successful generation mean every feature is correct?
No. Check adding, viewing, totals, and saving one by one. Where you find a mismatch, narrow the request or adjust using what the current tool provides.
Do I need to open all my data to Cami?
Manage permissions based on what the tool supports and what you need. Nothing should be opened up by default.
